1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember you between pages and visits. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work the same way.
This policy explains which ones Vedmarg uses on the web panel (account.vedmarg.com) and on our website (www.vedmarg.com). It forms part of our Privacy Policy.
2. Cookies on the web panel (account.vedmarg.com)

Analytics and marketing
These third-party cookies are set only after you choose "Accept all" on the cookie banner. If you choose "Essential only", these scripts are not loaded.
Once accepted, they are used on:
- the login and sign-up pages;
- pages inside the web panel;
- error pages; and
- online forms, such as admission forms, that Vedmarg hosts for Institutions.

Hotjar records how visitors click, scroll and move around our pages, so we can find and fix parts that are hard to use. Google, Meta and Hotjar process this information under their own privacy policies.
4. Local storage and notifications
The web panel also saves some information in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is not used for tracking:
- display preferences, such as light or dark theme and whether the sidebar is collapsed;
- the school name and logo shown on the login page;
- whether you have completed the product tour or closed feedback and survey pop-ups;
- screen lock status; and
- answers to an online test in progress, so they are not lost if the page reloads.
If you allow browser notifications, your browser stores a notification token from Google Firebase so we can deliver them. You can turn notifications off in your browser settings at any time.
5. How to control cookies
- Web panel cookie banner: choose "Accept all" or "Essential only" when you first visit. To change your choice later, use "Cookie settings", which is at the bottom of the login page and in the profile menu inside the web panel. Choosing "Essential only" stops the analytics and marketing scripts and deletes their cookies.
- Browser settings: every major browser lets you see, block and delete cookies. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in.
- Google: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or change your Google ad settings.
- Meta: manage how Meta uses information for ads in your Meta ad preferences.
- Mobile apps: the Vedmarg apps do not use browser cookies. They keep your sign-in and preferences on your device, and uninstalling the app removes them.
6. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when we add or remove cookies. The version number and date shown with this policy tell you when it last changed.
